"Day by Day" is the result of a collaborative project initiated in 2003. It is my hope that I will be able to create a book about this work.
Conceptually, "Stone Hinge" embraces the primitive while taking the format of the ubiquitous book. Constructed out of slate and wood and bound with a large piano hinge, "Stone Hinge" refers to early human efforts of writing and visual imagery.
Newspapers found in bookstores and libraries have always fascinated me as daily newspapers are often suspended on wooden dowels in such settings. This suspension transforms a newspaper into a book or manuscript.
